FAQs

  • What does a typical session look like?

A typical therapy session is a safe, confidential, and supportive conversation tailored to your needs. Sessions usually last about 50 minutes. Our sessions are held online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You can join from the comfort and privacy of your own space. In the first meeting, we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions you have.

As we continue, sessions often involve exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll listen carefully, offer observations, and help you develop new ways of understanding and approaching challenges. In narrative and somatic therapy, we focus both on the stories you tell about your life and on how these experiences are held in the body.

Every session is different because every person is unique. My aim is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.

  • Do you accept insurance?

I have chosen not to work directly with insurance companies in order to maintain the highest degree of privacy, flexibility, and clinical integrity in our work together. Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis and often limits the number and type of sessions, which can restrict the individualized, in-depth approach that narrative and somatic therapy often requires.

By not billing insurance, I am able to offer a confidential, personalized therapeutic process without imposed constraints, ensuring that your care is guided solely by your needs and goals.

However, I am happy to provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement as an out-of-network service. Please check with your insurer to understand your specific benefits and coverage.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, check, credit and debit cards, as well as FSA/HSA cards. If you have any questions regarding fees, payment options, or eligibility for the sliding scale, please feel free to contact me for further information.
